Well this was another week of summer schooling, for sure! We only got a few full days of school in but I'm so not stressing it! We've gotten almost 6 weeks of school completed this summer so we have plenty of lee-way, IMO!!! :) Poor Bray worked on schoolwork last Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday and only realized Wednesday that he'd been working on the next week's assignments! =o/ SO This week we will be working to actually finish up the correct week's schoolwork and get back on track before our trip to Chattanooga at the end of the month.
Sunday ~ August 7th
Speaking of which! :) The hubs & I discussed last night spending 3 days & 2 nights in Chattanooga, August 26-28. We're going to try to mimic the trip we took there with Braden when he was 3. We'll be going up Friday, and spending the day at the Tennessee Aquarium. I would love to plan a unit study for the next couple weeks before we go to the Aquarium to get the kids accustomed to some vocabulary they'll hear while we're there. Bray & I made these Calendar Connections cards (made by Carisa at 1+1+1=1) and I think I'll incorporate them into our Morning Board time ~ maybe just work through a few a day until we leave for our trip! =)
Early Monday ~ August 8th
Ok, so I've been out looking at Montessori Nomenclature cards for the different habitats and biomes we'll be seeing when we're at the aquarium. I found Nomenclature & 3-part Cards for lots of different habitats and printed off these three sets for us to use before we leave for the aquarium! These are all from 1+1+1=1.
I want to make a list of animals and pictures for the kids to take with them so they can do sort of a scavenger hunt while we're there! :)
